Stay Cool For the Summer at These Local Spots

Posted on: June 22, 2021

This week, Western Washington is going to see some of the highest temperatures we’ve seen so far this year. If you’re looking for ways to stay cool without staying home, look no further than these local establishments offering delicious bites, and activities both inside and out!

Food

Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream This is where you can find arguably the best ice cream in Washington. There are locations at several places in Seattle, as well as Bellevue and Redmond. Check out their Instagram to see new seasonal flavors, always made with the highest quality of ingredients. If you can’t get to one of their shops, they are also available in most local grocery stores!

Happy Lemon With several locations around the greater Seattle area, this is a prime place to stop for a bubble tea craving. Enjoy classic milk tea flavors, as well as sweeter treats, specialty items, and slushies!

B•Bar Bellevue ⟶ Fronting RSIR’s Bellevue office, this is the place not only for high-quality bites, but fun summer cocktails, like the Strawberry Passion Fruit Sorbet Float, that are sure to cool you down!

Outdoor Recreation

Northwest Paddle Surfers If you're looking for kayaking or paddleboarding on Lake Washington, this is a terrific place to get your rental right on Juanita Beach in Kirkland. Outdoor enthusiasts can even purchase season passes for fun all summer long!

Hiking Little Si This is a great hike for those who aren’t up for an intense trail, but still want to experience views. This is a nice, 3.7 mile, shade-filled walk, and it’s even pet-friendly!

Seattle Donut Boat Co. Looking for a day on the Lake where you’re not so close to the water? Donut boats with full-coverage umbrellas are your answer! Cruise along with friends or family on this unique experience.

Indoor Recreation

Museum of Pop Culture   This is a great stop for a nice, air-conditioned activity. This summer, the museum is featuring a new exhibit called Heroes & Villains: The Art of the Disney Costume that uncovers all of the magic behind our favorite movie ensembles. If you haven’t been before, the permanent exhibits are equally as fantastic!

Rock Climbing at Seattle Bouldering Project ⟶ This is a great way to burn off some energy while still staying indoors to beat the heat. There are classes for beginners if you’re new to climbing as well!

Make Your Own Candle at Elm Candle Bar ⟶ Create your own custom scented candle at the city’s premier destination! In groups of four or less, you can reserve a time to go into the shop and make your own creative candle. As they say on their website, “A candle is never heard, but can influence our emotions just like that favorite song.” What a special addition to your home!

If you’re considering buying or selling a home this summer, I’d love to connect with you and talk about your goals. Whether it’s just a summer residence or your next dream property, there are options out there in our beautiful corner of the PNW!

Stay cool, everyone!
