After a brief market slow-down, the real estate market is now beginning to warm up again.
Though market trends at the beginning of 2019 showed a slow-down in the Seattle real estate market, the forecast looks warm for the market this spring. RedFin recently released a study saying that in January, although there was an 8% decrease in January sales (from January 2018), there was a 15% increase in pending home sales. Silicon Valley, Boston, and San Jose also so increased in pending sales in the last couple of months.
The spring housing season is starting early this year, and that means there’s work to be done if you’re getting ready to sell your home (or buy a new home). In an interview with Seattle Pi, David Palmer of Seattle Redfin said that “home sellers should expect to negotiate more money than they have in the past few years. The days of buyers waving all contingencies are behind us.”
If you’re looking to participate in the real estate market this spring, now is the time to start preparing. I would love to be your guide as you embark on the journey of a lifetime, so please contact me with any questions you may have about buying or selling a home.
